What Is Going On In Our Country, & Could This Be Affecting Our Health?

2020 by all accounts has transformed into a year, unlike anything we have ever witnessed.

Social media, mainstream news media, and all outlets of information continue to feed us daily with alarming stories.

Impeachment Hearings against the leader of our country,

A viral outbreak sweeping across the globe that has changed the lives of everyone,

People quarantined

Riots, looting, and civil unrest tearing our communities apart,

Food Shortages

Job losses

Potential economic collapse

These are all headlines and situations that have affected every aspect of our lives. How we talk to others, navigate through public places and interact on a daily basis has changed to a “new normal”

How is this affecting our bodies?

Numerous Doctors and medical professionals across America (as well as the ones that have been laid off or silenced) are extremely concerned about the long term effects of these current situations, and the devastating consequences to our health.

With all the current change and negative stream of information, we are rapidly creating a situation of PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) across the nation.

You may not even realize that you are suffering!

This article is not intended to further add additional stress to an already difficult situation, but to help enlighten what we can and should be doing to best protect our bodies and our immune systems.

What impacts does stress have on our body’s?

Stress occurs when life events surpass our natural abilities to cope. It causes our body’s to produce greater levels of the stress hormone cortisol.

In short spurts, cortisol can boost our immunity by limiting inflammation. However, over time, our body’s can get used to having too much cortisol in the bloodstream. This then opens the door for more inflammation.

In addition, stress decreases our body’s lymphocytes — the white blood cells that help fight off infection. The lower our lymphocyte level, the more at risk we are for viruses, including the common cold and cold sores.

High-stress levels also can cause depression and anxiety, again leading to higher levels of inflammation. In the long-term, sustained, high levels of inflammation point to an overworked, over-tired immune system that can’t properly protect us.

Conditions that stress causes

If you don’t control high-stress levels, chronic inflammation can accompany it and can contribute to the development and progression of many diseases of the immune system such as:

  • Arthritis
  • Fibromyalgia
  • Lupus
  • Psoriasis
  • Inflammatory bowel disease

Under sustained, long-term stress, you also can develop cardiovascular problems, including a fast heart rate and heart disease, as well as gastric ulcers. You’ll also be at greater risk for type 2 diabetes, various cancers, and mental decline.

As we can see, these long term exposures to fearful, negative information being presented to us daily is taking a toll on our immune systems, and creating an opportunity for long term serious effects.

There are ways for us to help our bodies deal with stress naturally.

Supplementation:

Natural supplementation helps the immune system, as well as detoxifying the free radicals that build up in the body as a result of stress. It’s important to consider a proper balance of vitamins and minerals as the body cannot absorb vitamins without proper mineralization. Vitamins and minerals have long been documented for their positive relationship dealing with stress.

Exercise:

Exercise is a key factor in helping the body reduce inflammation and strengthen circulation. When we exercise we are naturally creating endorphins in the body that help combat the negative effects of stress.

Sleep:

Sleep is the body’s restorative process. In many cases, people suffering from stress are not getting enough sleep or falling into a deep sleep. When the body is in a state of REM(Rapid Eye Movement) sleep the body is in a natural state of healing and restoration.

Hydration:

Many people across the globe are not drinking enough clean water and maintaining proper hydration.  Hydration assists in cleansing the body of toxins as well as giving our essential organs and blood key elements to function.

Prayer:

In many cases, studies show that meditation can be beneficial to releasing the mind and relaxing. At Freedom Health Alliance we believe that the power of prayer is essential to connecting with God and using the time to connect and help restore our bodies.

As we continue to face burdensome times, as both individuals and a society, keeping our gift from God, our human bodies functioning to the best of our abilities, is key to overcoming many of the challenges out of our control.

Freedom Health Alliance is here to support and encourage you through these perilous times as we are all in this together facing the challenges this world presents to us on a daily basis.
